Masai Mara national reserve is the most famous and visit Kenya tour adventure destination. This ecosystem is connected to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park forming one of the most important wildlife conversation area and tour adventures destination.

Mida Creek Boat rides

The Mida Creek is a 32 kilometer tidal inlet along the Kenyan coast in Watamu North of Mombasa. It is natural water harbor that is surrounded by extensive mangrove and palm trees. Mida is home and breeding ground for several wildlife species including sea turtles and fish.

It is also a renowned birding destination and major stop over for the migratory birds. Samburu Reserve Tour experiences

Samburu National Reserve is located in Northern Kenya in Samburu County. It is among the most diverse but less explored Outdoor Kenya Tour destinations. Samburu is most famous for its unique wildlife species that do not occur in other Kenya Safari destinations. They include the gerenuk, reticulated giraffes, Oryx Beisa and grevy’s zebras among others.

Northern Kenya is relatively dry and a semi desert compered to Central Kenya and the Kenya highlands. The region therefore has semi-desert adaptive wildlife species including the dik dik and ostriches. Other safari animals like elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, leopards and small antelopes are also present in the reserve.

Samburu has one of the highest bird diversities including endemic and migratory birds this making it an iconic Kenya Birding destination. The reserve is also best explored during the dry season from June to September and December to March. The rainy season brings in a lot of waters from as far as the mount Kenya region flowing through the many seasonal rivers and the Ewaso Ngiro River. All these burst their banks cutting off roads to lodges and game drive areas.

Giraffe Center excursions

The giraffe center is located in the heart of Nairobi in the Karen Surbub. The centre is attached to the Giraffe Manor and is home to giraffes whose breeding began in the early 1980s. At the giraffe center you get to experience up close moments feeding and interacting with some of the resident giraffes.

A visit to the giraffe center makes more sense when you have had an overnight at the Manor that is one of Kenya’s oldest boutique hotels. The Manor has more giraffes that you dine with as learn about their restoration success. It should be noted that the number of RothChilds giraffes had drastically reduced in Kenya due to poaching and habitat encroachment. A giraffe breeding program was however start at the Manor that saw the reproduction of more and an increase in the overall numbers in the country as some were reintroduced in the parks and conservancies.

Lake Nakuru National Park is currently the only national park in Kenya where you can see the Rothschilds giraffes. A visit to the giraffe center and manor will give you a more insight into this wildlife conservation journey and success. The Center is open daily and can be visited on a Nairobi City Tour excursion.

Amboseli Elephant Journeys

Amboseli is diverse and among the most recommended Outdoor Kenya Tour Adventures destination. The Park is home to lands’ largest mammals, the elephants that are famous for their long tusks. Amboseli is located in southern Kenya about a 4 to 5 hours drive from Nairobi Kenya’s capital. It is the best Kenya Tour destination to see elephants and other safari animals including wildebeests, buffaloes, lions, leopards and giraffes among others.

Mount Kilimanjaro is another safari landmark in Amboseli. The Mountain has Africa’s highest peak standing at an elevation of 5,895 meters above sea level. It is located in Tanzania but can best be seen in Amboseli National Park. Outdoor Kenya Tour Adventures is Amboseli as just incredible as you journey with the wildlife with a view of mount Kilimanjaro in the background.

The pack can best be explored on game drives, walks and balloon safaris. It is also a great birding destination with several bird species including flamingos. Lake Nakuru was initially the best place in Kenya to see flamingos but these migrated because of an increase in water levels. A birding safari to Amboseli is therefore more rewarding when you decide to focus on flamingos and other water birds.
