Tanzania Honeymoon Tour Destinations!

A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that many people like to experience. After this, newlyweds go on vacation to celebrate their love and start of new journey and Tanzania Honeymoon tour destinations are among the most visited in the region. Many newlyweds however prefer the peace often preferring to go exclusive tour destinations.

Tanzania has an endless list of leading honeymoon tour destinations including Serengeti where you can have a blast. The fact that these are often crowded especially during the peak tourist season and festive days makes them to a certain extent less desirable. Fortunately, Tanzania has many other honeymoon tour destinations and they include the following.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is one of the most prominent northern Tanzania tour destinations. It is the land of the giants and is most famous for its large elephant herds. Tarangire unlike Serengeti is not frequented a lot. It has many other safari specials including the tree-climbing lions plus a mini animal migration of major savanna wildlife species. This makes it among the best Northern Tanzania honeymoon tour destinations.

Just like many other open savannas, you can engage in game drives or choose to relax at the lodge. Other safari tour adventures you can engage in include nature walks, balloon safaris, and night game drives.

You can engage your Tanzania Honeymoon tour any time of the year. The low tourist season months from February to May are a little more exclusive and best for birding tours. The park also has a reasonable number of big cats especially lions and leopards that you can spot on game drives.

Zanzibar

The Zanzibar archipelago is another incredible Tanzania Honeymoon tour destination. It is located in the Indian Ocean over 26 kilometers from mainland Tanzania. It comprises several islands including Unguja and Pemba. The islands’ capital is Zanzibar City located on Unguja island.

Being strategically located in the Ocean, the Islands are surrounded by white sand beaches. These are ideal for day getaways and perfect for Honeymoon Tanzania Tour adventures.

A visit to Zanzibar also enables you to explore the marine wildlife Tanzania has. These feature several sea wildlife species including turtles, dolphins, and fish. Zanzibar is also a historic island with prominent historic attractions like Stone Town. Stone Town is among the few historic World Heritage Sites in East Africa with a history dating back to the 14th and 16th Century.

Zanzibar is not just ideal for honeymoon but for destination weddings as well. It can be visited alongside other mainland Tanzania Honeymoon Tour destinations.

Mahale Mountains

The Mahale Mountains are located far west along the Northern Coast of Lake Tanganyika. They are forested mountains and home to one of the highest chimpanzee populations in Tanzania. Mahale Mountains and Gombe Springs are the only two Tanzania Tour destinations with chimpanzees.

The location of the Mountainous Park makes it ideal for a honeymoon. It is among the least visited Tanzania destinations because of its location. The mountainous nature of the Park and its border with Lake Tanganyika creates a natural enclave. Mahale Mountains National Park can only be accessed by Air to the nearby Kigoma Town and then connected by boat trip.

While there you can engage in several tour activities including chimpanzee trekking, nature walks, birding, and boat rides. You can also opt to just relax at the lodge or beach enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Mahale Mountains can be visited any time of the year but for the best experiences, it is better to visit during the dry season months.

Katavi National Park

Katavi is another exclusive Tanzania Honeymoon tour destination. It is located in western Tanzania and covers and land area of 4,471 square kilometers of a diverse savanna ecosystem. These range from open savanna grasslands, woodlands, wetlands, and floodplains. Katavi National Park has some of the highest and most undisturbed wildlife species populations thanks to its size and location.

Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, Hippos, crocodiles, and birds all occur in large numbers. The park is home to predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the rare African wild dogs. All these are seen on game drives following the less traveled paths in the park. Other safari tour adventures you can engage in while there include balloon safaris, birding, photography, and nature walks.

Katavi is perfect for a savanna honeymoon tour getaway and is among our most recommended Tanzania tour destinations. It can be visited throughout the year but has limited accommodation options. With this, we recommend booking a couple of months in advance if you are to visit.

Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National Park is located in Southern Tanzania. With a land area of 20,226 square kilometers, Ruaha is among the largest protected areas in Tanzania. It comprises several ecosystems of savannas and wetlands that are home to the different wildlife species the park has. These include elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and hippos among others. Ruaha has some of the largest prides of lions with up to 20 individuals.

Some of the safari specials in Ruaha include the lesser and greater Kudus, roan, and sable antelopes. There are over 450 bird species in the park with this number increasing from November to April when migratory birds are present.

Ruaha offers not just an exclusive Tanzania honeymoon tour but also the finest savanna wildlife experience. Such off-beaten paths are our ultimate Discovery Journeys expeditions. There is nothing as refreshing as having such experiences on your honeymoon with your most beloved.

The East African region is a safari enclave of not just wildlife but cultural and historic experiences. Kenya and Tanzania are most prominent for the open Savanas and beach holidays while Uganda and Rwanda are ideal for primates. They are home to the rare mountain gorillas and high populations of chimpanzees and other primates. Be part of all these by joining our safari adventures in any of your preferred destinations.
