What to Do in Tanzania
Tanzania is a leading wildlife, historic, and cultural safari destination with a number of attractions. Notable ones include Serengeti National Park home to a number of wildlife species including lions, elephants, leopards, and a number of bird species. Serengeti National Park is most famous for the wildebeest migration an animal mass movement of wildebeest, gazelles, and other antelopes from Serengeti to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Serengeti National Park is among the featured destinations at the KARIBU-KILIFAIR and safari there and truly rewarding.
In Serengeti and other wildlife destinations, you can enjoy game drives, balloon Safaris, cultural visits, nature walks depending on your preferences. The Ngorongoro crater is another outstanding destination and while here you can also enjoy game drives. The Crater is an attraction in itself and has diverse landscapes including lakes. There are a number of wildlife species on the crater floor and safari game drives there are very rewarding.
Tanzania has a very long coastline with marine national parks and beautiful white sandy beaches. These are ideal to explore after the savanna wildlife safari.
Best Time To Visit
Destination Tanzania can be visited at any time of the year. For the best wildlife viewing, activities, and wildlife photography, it is best to visit in the dry season. This spans from June to September and from December to February. During this time you can catch up with the great wildebeest migration and enjoy overall big cats experiences.
The dry season also doubles as the peak tourist season and a number of lodges and camps get fully booked. You are therefore advised to book your safari in advance.
The wet season is also a great time to visit as it is easy to spot wildlife. The rains favor the growth of lush vegetation and major grazers do not therefore go far to look for pasture. This attracts the major predators in the land and they can therefore easily be spotted as well. Some tracks in the park however become impassable and could be a hindrance while doing game drives.
