Ol Pejeta currently has 35 chimpanzees including many rescued from traumatic experiences. These at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary are rehabilitated and nursed till they fully recover. After this, they are then introduced to the already existing community at the sanctuary and they gradually bond. They spend most of their day in the open socializing and this is where you get the opportunity to meet them.
