The 4-Day Gorillas and Wildlife Tour features Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is an epic primate trekking and wildlife safari adventure. The tour features mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is one of the few places with the endangered mountain gorillas. Mountain gorillas are rare primate species that live in the forested mountains in East Africa. On the entire planet, they can be found in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are also limited only to Bwindi and the adjacent Sarambwe Reserve plus the Virunga Mountains.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has the highest mountain gorilla population with Four gorilla trekking sectors. They include Buhoma in the North, Ruhija in the East, and Rushaga and Nkuringo in the Southern part of the park. The other mountain gorilla population is shared in the Virunga Mountains National Parks. These include Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Virunga National Park in DRC, and Mgahinga Gorilla Park in Uganda. On this 4-Day Gorillas and Wildlife Tour, you will trek to one of the gorilla-habituated families in Bwindi.

After the remarkable encounter with the gorillas, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you have game drives in the open savanna wilderness of Ishasha. There are quite several wildlife species to see here. Elephants, the topi, buffaloes, and waterbucks are among them. Ishasha is most famous for the tree-climbing lions and you will spot them if lucky.

The Kazinga Channel is another iconic destination on this tour. You will have a boat cruise here seeing the major wildlife species. End this epic Discovery Journeys adventure with a chimpanzee trek in Kalinzu Forest.

Full Tour Package

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park

You will be picked up from your residence/Hotel in Kampala at 7:00 a.m. for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have en route stops at the Equator for photography and experiment and then proceed to Mbarara for a lunch break. After lunch, you will proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening for meals and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Community Visit

After breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. From here you will be led to the forest trekking amidst sighting of other wildlife species. Once you get to the gorillas you will be allowed to stay in their presence for an hour taking photos and getting to more about the mountain gorillas. Later in the evening, you will be taken for a community visit where you will get to know about the local peoples' ways of life. Dinner and Overnight at Mahogany Springs

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP and boat cruise

After breakfast at your lodge, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP arriving early for a game drive In the Ishasha sector. You will see the major wildlife here and proceed to Mweya for lunch. After lunch, you will go for a Kazinga channel boat cruise where you will see a number of hippos, birds, Nile crocodiles, and other wildlife species. Later have a brief game drive as you head to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking & Departure

You will have breakfast and be taken for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge or Kalinzu forest. On return, you will be driven back to Kampala arriving in the evening for a drop-off at your residence /Hotel or airport depending on the schedule
