The total mountain gorilla population in Bwindi is estimated at over 450 individuals and there are 22 habituated mountain gorilla families. 20 are fully habituated and 2 are under habituation. The park is located in Eastern Congo on the Lower Lake Kivu belt and can easily be accessed through Rwanda.
