The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located in the Laikipia Plateau in Central Kenya. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to drive from Nairobi Kenya’s Capital city to this diverse wildlife Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy covers a land area of 350 square kilometers and is home to various wildlife including chimpanzees.

The Conservancy has many notable safari animals and its Rhino population and species diversity is unmatched. There are 3 rhino species here including the black rhinos, the southern White, and northern white rhinos. Ol Pejeta is among the few conservancies in Kenya with all the big five mammals occurring in large numbers. There are over 70 lions, 30 cheetahs, and about 20 leopards.

Other notable safari animals at the conservancy include elephants, wild dogs, hyenas, Grevy’s zebras, Hippos, and Jackson’s hartebeests among others. The conservancy is open to families giving an opportunity to young ones between the ages of 4 to 12 to be Ol Pejeta Junior Rangers.
