The Recording Academy Awards!

Grammy Awards are the most prestigious Music award ceremony on the planet. They are a celebration of music excellence and the music community’s highest honor awards. The inaugural Grammy Awards ceremony was first held in 1958 in the United States of America.

66 years down the road, the awarding ceremony has evolved greatly to include a celebration of music categories of other cultures. The African Music performance, best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording are some of the new categories that have been added to the Grammys. These will be considered starting in 2024 and the Grammy nominations are to be announced this Friday, November 10th.

The addition of the African Music performance is a great milestone for African Culture and Music evolution. This incredible news has been warmly welcomed in addition to the possibility of some African countries becoming regional hubs for the Grammy Recording Academy.

Kigali, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Lagos, and Abidjan are the top African cities believed to become regional hubs. It is rumored that Rwanda will host the first-ever Grammy Awards on the African continent in 2025. We can only wait and hope for the best and success of this prestigious awarding ceremony.
