The 2-Day Rwanda Gorilla tour is to Volcanoes National Park for a mountain gorilla trekking adventure. This tour primarily features gorilla trekking and simple excursions like the city tour. It starts with a pick-up from Kigali and here you can opt to have a city tour or directly go to the park. The Kigali city tour takes about 2 hours depending on the places you visit.

You can alternatively be driven to the park for a nature walk on the Twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. From here you can head to your lodge or visit the Ellen Campus of the Dian Fossey Fund. Another alternative is a cultural visit where you would learn more about the Rwandan people's culture.

On the second and final day, you enjoy your mountain gorilla trekking adventure. Start this most anticipated with a briefing at the park headquarters about the gorilla trek. From here you are guided on a hike to the forest for 1 to 4 hours until you meet the gorillas. Once you get to them, stay in their presence for an hour learning more about them. Later you are brought back to the park headquarters for your certificates of participation.

Volcanoes National Park has 12 habituated gorilla families that are open for tourism. Some of these mountain gorilla families can be got to after a shorter time of hiking while others require long hours. In case you have a flight departing Kigali that evening then you will trek with a gorilla family that can be got to after a short time of trekking. The 2-day Rwanda Gorilla tour is short and very convenient for those with limited time in Rwanda. In case you want more Rwanda Safari excursions then you can extend your visit to a least a 5-day or 10-day Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Head to Volcanoes National park

Start the day with a brief Kigali city tour to major places of interest visiting the genocide Musuem, local market and others. After the tour you will transfer to Volcanoes national park in a 3 hours drive arriving in the afternoon. You will later have a cultural experience where you will get to know more about the Rwandan local culture

Day 2: Gorilla Trek & Departure

On this most anticipated day you will head to the park headquarters early morning after breakfast. You will be briefed about the gorilla trek and then head to the forest in a 2 to 6 hour trek as you see other wildlife species. Once you get to the gorillas stay in their presence for an hour and later be brought back for a transfer back to Kigali for a drop off at the hotel or airport depending on schedule.
