Trip Overview
This 3-Day Uganda Gorilla tour enables you to explore Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to half of the remaining mountain gorilla population. This forested national park is diverse and is also home to chimpanzees, birds, and forest elephants among others. Bwindi Impenetrable is located in southwestern Uganda about a 9 to 10 hours drive from Kampala Uganda's Capital City. It has 4 gorilla sectors with habituated gorilla families.
The drive to Bwindi is long but interesting as you get to see the Ugandan countryside. There is an option of flying to Kihihi near the northern sector of Bwindi or to Kisoro near the southern sector. Flights are more costly but save a lot of time. When you fly you get to the park early enough for some excursion. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has Four main sectors including Rushaga, Nkuringo, Ruhija, and Buhoma. On this 3-day Uganda Gorilla Tour, you will track mountain gorillas in one of the sectors depending on mountain gorilla permit availability.
Each sector has accommodation options. It is important to book accommodation in the sector where you will be tracking mountain gorillas. Remember there is an age restriction on mountain gorilla trekking and only individuals above the age of 15 will be allowed to track. It is also important to note that only 8 tourists are allowed to track one mountain gorilla family per day meaning you have to book your permits in advance.
The 3 Days Uganda gorilla tour is recommended for those with limited time in Uganda but would like to trek to be part of Uganda Gorilla Safaris. It can be done by all tourists categories including honeymooners, wildlife photographers, primatologists and families among others.
