The 13-Day Uganda Birding Safari takes you through Uganda's finest birding and wildlife destinations including the less traveled paths of Royal Mile. Start your birding Journeys in Entebbe in Lake Victoria along the Mabamba wetlands. Here you will see Uganda's most sought-after shoebill stork. From here you will proceed on the 13-day Uganda Birding safari to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking where you will other bird species.
Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park birding through Budongo Forest and the different wildlife trails in the park. You will enjoy birding game drives where you will the park's major birds and safari animals like elephants, lions, giraffes, and antelopes among others. End the Murchison Falls birding safaris with a boat cruise to the Bottom of the falls.
You will exit Murchison Falls National Park via the Butiaba escarpment to Masindi birding through the Albert Rift Valley which has several birds. From here you enjoy birding excursions along the Royal Mile. Royal Mile Birding safaris exclusively allow you to enjoy your adventures without any interruption. Continue with the 13-day Uganda birding safari following the Albertine Rift Valley to Kibale National Park where you will also track chimpanzees. You will Bird through Queen Elizabeth National park, the Kazinga Channel and the to Bwindi Impenetrable National where you will meet mountain gorillas on an incredible mountain gorilla trekking adventure. You will end your Uganda birding adventure in Lake Mburo National PARK and later return to Kampala.
On this Birding Discovery Journeys, you will meet some endemics of the Albertine Rift as well as some species from Central African forests.

Full Tour Package
Day 1: Mabamba Wetland Birding
You will start off your birding adventure with a visit to Mabamba wetlands in Lake Victoria. The area is most famous for the shoebill stork and many other bird species. You will explore the wetlands on motorized canoes enjoying the views of the lake for about 3 to 4 hours. Return to your hotel for a lunch break and later go to the botanical gardens for walking and birding tours. Overnight at 2 Friends Hotel / Hotel No.5
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park en route Rhino Tracking (5 hours drive)
After breakfast you will transfer to Murchison falls national park with an en-route stop over at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking. There are also a number of birds at the sanctuary that you will explore and later proceed to the park. You will then proceed and have birding excursions in Budongo forest and proceed to your lodge. Day 3: Birding Game drives & Bottom of the falls Boat cruise
You will have breakfast and go for game drives where you will see the major wildlife species in the park. The game drive will be keen on birds since it is a birding tour. Later have a lunch break and in the afternoon have a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. This 2-hour boat cruise is very impressive and gives a lot of bird and overall wildlife viewing opportunities.
Day 4: Rift Valley Escarpment Birding & Transfer to Masindi
After breakfast, you will exit the park via Butiaba where you will have birding excursions seeing the major Albertine Rift Valley endemics. You will then proceed to Masindi town for Dinner and overnight at Masindi Hotel
Day 5: Royal Mile Birding
You will have breakfast and be driven to the royal mile where you will see a number of birds. Notable birds to see on this excursion include a forest robin, black-billed turaco, and little greenbul among others. The Royal Mile has an extension of the Budongo forest and here you also get to see primates including chimpanzees, Red tailed monkeys and baboons among others. Later return to Masindi for Dinner and overnight at your Masindi Hotel.
Day 6: Birding adventures to Kibale Forest
After breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale forest national park via Hoima. The route shows you life in the Ugandan countryside and there are also many birding opportunities along the way. You will have a stopover for lunch and at major places of interest for birding and wildlife watching. Proceed to Kibale national park arriving in the evening for Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge / TuracoTree Tops / Papaya Lake lodge
Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Nature Walk
You will report to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking and then be guided to the forest. Kibale national park is home to chimpanzees and 12 other primates some of which you see on the chimpanzee trek. You will also see a number of birds here and later return to your lodge for a lunch break. In the afternoon you will go birding and to the Bigodi wetlands where you will see more birds and other primates. Meals and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge / TuracoTree Tops / Papaya Lake lodge
Day 8: Birding Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will have breakfast and set off for Queen Elizabeth National park arriving early enough for a lunch break. In the afternoon take a Kazinga channel boat cruise where you will see a number of birds. The channel also has other wildlife species including hippos, elephants, monitor lizards, and crocodiles among others. You will then have a game drive as you head to your lodge for Dinner and overnight at Enganzi Lodge/ Parkview Safari lodge / Katara Lodge
Day 9: Ishasha sector Safari & Transfer to Bwindi
On this day you will set off for a birding safari and game drive in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park. The sector has a number of wildlife species including lions, elephants, waterbucks, Topi and many bird species. You will have a lunch break and proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening for Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge / Agandi Lodge
Day 10: Gorilla Trekking Adventure
After breakfast, you will go for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking. From here you will be guided to the forest where you will see the gorillas and other wildlife species including birds. Later return to your lodge for a rest. In the evening you will go for a community visit where you will learn more about the local people's culture. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge / Agandi Lodge
Day 11: MuBwindi Birding
You will spend this day in BuBwindi swamp where you will see a number of birds. Later return to the lodge and can spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge / Agandi Lodge
Day 12: Head to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast depart for lake Mburo national park for another birding adventure. You will arrive in time for a lunch break and spend the afternoon exploring the park on a boat cruise and birding adventures.
Day 13: Birding Safari & Departure
You will have breakfast and have a morning safari where you will see a number of birds. Later exit the park for a transfer to Entebbe for a drop-off at the Hotel or airport for departure depending on the schedule
