This 3-day Akagera Tour enables you to explore the only Savannah National Park in Rwanda. You will have game drives featuring the Big Five mammals and other Savannah wildlife including the major big cats. This tour is ideal for those seeking the true African Safari experience. Akagera National Park is also East Africa's largest protected wetland and an Important birding area in Rwanda after the Nyungwe forest.

Akagera National Park is the only savanna national park in Rwanda. It has all the big five mammals including lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, and elephants. Other major incredible safari animals in Akagera National Park include giraffes, elands, and zebras among others. The notable birds in the park include the shoebill stork, Brown-chested lapwing, African Fish Eagle, Marabou stork, Sooty chat, black-headed gonolek, Amur falcon, and crested barbet among others. You will see a number of these while on game drives in the park.

The 3-day Akagera tour also features a boat cruise along Lake Ihema. Here you will see aquatic animals including crocodiles, and hippos among others. Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and Game drives

You will have breakfast and be driven to Akagera National park located in Eastern Rwanda. You will arrive early for a lunch break and later go for game drives seeing a number of wildlife and enjoying the evening sunset.

Day 2: Game drives and Boat Cruise

After breakfast you will go for game drives in the northern sector of the park seeing a number of wildlife. Notable animals you will see include elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes a number of birds and many others. In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise along Lake Ihema where you will see other wildlife including hippos, crocodiles among others.

Day 3: Departure

On this morning after breakfast you will have game drives as you exit the park for a transfer to Kigali arriving early enough for a drop off at the airport for departure or Hotel depending on schedule.
