The 2-day Uganda birding tour features Mabamba wetlands and Botanical gardens. It is a short but very rewarding birding excursion where you will see some of the most sought-after birds. You will start the excursion at the Botanical Gardens home to a number of birds and various tree species. There are also a number of primates here including vervet monkeys that are often roaming around the gardens. The gardens stretch to the shores of Lake Victoria and a birding tour and a visit to the lake is rewarding. The botanical gardens are open and ideal for picnics that can be organized after the birding excursion.

There are well-developed birding trails that you follow.  The tree species here are labeled with the local and scientific names. For the best and more bird viewing opportunities we often recommend a birding tour of about 3 to 4 hours. This can be done in the morning or evening. In this 2-day Uganda Birding tour, you will have a full day to explore the gardens.  You will end the day visiting one of the beaches in the area to relax.

On the second day, you will visit the Mabamba wetlands in Lake Victoria which is also a great birding destination. Mabamba swamp is the best place to see the shoebill stork and also has many other bird species including grey-crowned cranes, Kingfishers among others. The birding excursion to Mabamba is even more adventurous as it is done on motorized canoes riding through the various waterways of the marshy vegetation.

The botanical gardens and Mabamba swamp are rich in wildlife especially birds and are very ideal to explore while in Entebbe. The 2 days Uganda Birding Tour works well for those with limited time but would love to explore the bird life.
