The 8-Day Eastern Uganda Safari is an exclusive Uganda safari adventure to east and northern Uganda. Most of Uganda's Discovery Journeys are done following the Western tourism circuit because of the region's diversity. The East and North are however equally diverse and you will uncover that on this 8-Day Eastern Uganda Safari.

Start your Discovery Journey in Sipi near Mount Elgon. The region has rich volcanic soils that boost coffee plantations. This region produces Uganda's finest coffee and you will get a chance to taste this locally made. Hike to the different falls and later proceed to Pian Upe Reserve.

Pian Upe is currently Uganda's largest protected area. It will become Uganda's largest National Park once elevated to the status of a National Park which is underway. The reserve is a true definition of less traveled paths and you will enjoy your time here.

Proceed and end your 8-day Eastern Uganda Safari in Karamoja Land. Here you will visit the Tepeth Mountain people and the Karamojong community. You will also have game drives in Kidepo and Narus Valley the true African Wilderness. Spend two nights in the park where you will see the various wildlife species the park has. Kidepo Valley is among the 2 national parks in Uganda with Zebras. Kidepo and Pian Upe are also the only 2 destinations in Uganda with cheetahs. Even though rarely seen, you do stand a chance of seeing these big cats while on game drives here.

Day 1: Transfer to Sipi & Coffee Experience

Start this Uganda safari adventure with a transfer to Kapchorwa in Eastern Uganda. You will arrive in time for lunch and a little rest and in the evening go for a coffee experience where you will get a chance to taste locally made coffee. Dinner and Overnight at Sipi Falls Lodge

Day 2: Sipi Falls Hike & Transfer to Pian Upe

After breakfast at your lodge, you will go for a hike to Sipi Falls. Here you will enjoy magnificent views of the falls along the ridge as you interact with the local people. After the adventurous hike, you will be transferred to Pian Upe Reserve. Get there in time for lunch and in the evening have a short game drive. Meals and Overnight at Karamoja Overland Camp

Day 3: Nature Walk & Canoe Ride

Start this day with a guided nature walk in the reserve. Here you will get up close to the wildlife and enjoy the great views of the open savannas and also see some wildlife species in the reserve. Later have a lunch break and in the afternoon have a Canoe Ride on Lake Opeta. Here you will see various wildlife species, especially birds and later return to your camp. Day 4: Transfer to Moroto and visit the Tepeth

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Moroto getting there in time for lunch. Check in at your camp for a rest and in the afternoon go for a community visit to the Tepeth Mountain People. Meals and overnight at Kara Tunga Safari Camp

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park & Game drives

You will have breakfast and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park. Pass via Kotido in the countryside where you will see the true Ugandan countryside with traditional Karamojong homesteads. Proceed to the park getting there in time for lunch. In the evening enjoy game drives in Uganda's most isolated National Park. Meals and Overnight at Adere Safari Lodge

Day 6: Game Drives & Community Visit

On this most anticipated day, head out for game drives in the Narus Valley with the highest animal concentration. Here you will see various wildlife species including elephants, zebras, waterbucks, and a number of birds. Later in the afternoon go for a community visit where you will learn more about the people's culture. Meals and Overnight at Adere Safari Lodge

Day 7: Game drives and transfer to Gulu

After breakfast, you will go for another game drive in the park following other major trails. Later exit for a transfer to Gulu arriving in the evening for Dinner and Overnight at Bomah Hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to Kampala en route Rhino Tracking

This is the last day of the safari and you will start it with breakfast at your Hotel. From here transfer to Kampala with an en-route stop over at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Later proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening for a drop off at the Hotel or airport for departure depending on the schedule.
